MTV’s Video Music Awards returned to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey tonight (September 12), honoring some of the biggest names in the Top 40 arena. See the full list of winners below.
Taylor Swift led the pack of this year’s nominees, with eight nods in all surrounding 2022’s “Anti-Hero.” The Midnights single is up for Video of the Year alongside SZA’s “Kill Bill,” one of six total nominations for the SOS mastermind. Despite not releasing any full music videos for last year’s Renaissance, Beyoncé earned one nomination for Artist of the Year.
Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, and Nicki Minaj are all up for multiple trophies this year, and the latest pool of first-time nominees includes Boygenius, Ice Spice, GloRilla, Flo Milli, and more. Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bad Bunny, Lana Del Rey, Diddy, and Janelle Monáe are among the returning nominees for 2023.
