Sofia Kourtesis has announced a new album, Madres. She has also shared a new song, “Si Te Portas Bonito,” which follows the title track, released in March. The album arrives October 27, via Ninja Tune. Hear the new single below.

Kourtesis says in press materials that the album is dedicated to both her mother and the neurosurgeon who helped her survive cancer, Peter Vajkoczy. After answering Kourtesis’ plea for help—and her promise to dedicate a song to him—Vajkoczy performed the successful operation and eventually visited Kourtesis in Berlin, where she took him on his first trip to Berghain.

“Estación Esperanza,” the 2022 single featuring Manu Chao, also appears on the album.
