Sheer Mag are back and they’ve signed to Third Man Records. To herald their return, the rock band has announced a tour and shared the new song “All Lined Up,” along with a music video directed by Matt Palmer. The clip is a snapshot of late-night hours spent hanging with friends at a dive bar: dim lights, beer-and-a-shot combos, and endless rounds of pool. Check it out below.

The partnership came about when Sheer Mag reached out to Third Man directly, according to Third Man’s Ben Blackwell. “Having been aware of Sheer Mag since their earliest 7-inch singles and keeping up with their self-released, independent, DIY take-no-prisoners ethos, I never envisioned a world where they would ever sign to a record label,” he said. “So imagine how ecstatic we were at Third Man when the band reached out to us directly and asked if we’d be interested in partnering with them. Still doesn’t seem real. We are beyond honored, humbled really, to receive their handshake and their trust. This is gonna be fun as shit.” The label will also reissue the band’s back catalog.

Sheer Mag will hit the road this month for a tour that stretches into the fall. The North American trek begins on August 15 in Winooski, Vermont, and will last until December 1 in the band’s hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Find their complete list of tour dates below.

A Distant Call, the band’s most recent album, came out back in 2019. Sheer Mag have been fairly quiet since then, getting a nod from Bernie Sanders at a campaign rally that same year and rolling out the song “Crushed Velvet” for Hulu’s film The Ultimate Playlist of Noise in 2021.
