Pharoah Sanders’ 1977 album Pharoah will be reissued in a new box set from Luaka Bop. It’s out September 15. The box features remastered recordings, including the original album and two previously unreleased live performances of “Harvest Time.” It also comes with a booklet featuring rare photographs and an interview with Sanders, who gave this project his blessing before his death in 2022.

This year and through 2024, the box set will be supported by international performances under the banner “The Harvest Time Project: A Tribute to Pharoah Sanders.” Different artists will come together to perform “Harvest Time.” The first takes place November 12 at Le Guess Who? in Utrecht with Irreversible Entanglements, Domenico Lancellotti, and special guest Tisziji Muñoz under Joshua Abrams’ musical direction. It follows a workshop at Brooklyn’s National Sawdust on October 14.
